It seems like Honda is not yet finished with the beloved Ridgeline series. After the regular and black edition, it will also release 2018 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid that has different vibe than the other lineup of this series. It seems like Honda wants to maximize the pickup truck series as it is a trendy model people love. Whether there is something special that differentiates Hybrid from the regular or the black edition, we will see later when it is released. Here are some of the descriptions of the car. Note that not all description may match the version later.
New Honda Ridgeline 2018 Hybrid Specifications
The engine of the car is powered by the V6 engine of 3.6-liter capacity. It seems for the engine, they do not differentiate it from the black edition. It can produce 280 horsepower and torque of 262 lb-feet. That’s is a good one number. The towing capacity, however, is not as much as black edition or the regular one. For the four-wheel drive, it can tow up to 3500 pounds. While for the all-wheel drive, it can tow up to 5000 pounds. The pickup truck apparently is not designed for heavy duty but a more of middle range one. However, the 2018 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid design and specifications have Honda special technology that maximizes even the simplest of engine. For the fuel economy can run with 18 mpg in city and 24 mpg on the highway.
As for the exterior, it comes with four-door of crew cab design. The styling of the pickup truck is stylish and sleek. The headlamps of the car bring out the sophisticated feel of the car. The Hybrid version is the combination of the regular and the black edition. The skid plate effectively makes it easier to drive on difficult road. Despite having feeble towing capacity, the 2018 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid design look both stylish and sophisticatedly fierce at the same time.
The interior of the car is also sophisticated, though review said that the infotainment service is not so much as expected from Honda. It has leather trimmed seat and cloth upholstery, with elegantly designed dashboard. The 5 inches screen acts as navigation and infotainment. The small screen is not so much of a satisfying feature as other models have bigger screen. However, the separate 8 inches screen can make up for it. It is integrated with Apple Car Play, Android integration, audio system, and ambient lighting.
Price and Release Date
This mid-range sedan is priced around $32,000, cheaper than the black edition and definitely more affordable. The price can vary if there is some customization on the pickup truck like different trim or additional ones that are separated from the 2018 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid design or depend on the country. For the release date, it is expected to be released at the end of 2017 as it will roll out on the market soon as 2018 enters.
